Mike Smith - Managing Director

Originally from Ellesmere Port, Mike Smith studied Chemical Engineering at Nottingham University. After completing his degree Mike joined BP Chemicals at their Baglan Bay works in South Wales. It was at BP Chemicals where Andrew Grimley and Mike Smith first worked together, both seeing an opportunity to start their own process engineering company. After leaving BP Chemicals Mike worked for Contract Chemicals and Freeman Process Systems holding various chemical engineering and project management roles in production and contracting environments.
Now holding the position of Managing Director at GSA, Mike has almost 25 years experience in the process industries. As Managing Director, Mike manages the work flows of the individual project teams and project managers on a day to day basis.
Mike has a keen interest in cooking,his two sons and supporting the local Round Table.
