History of Grimley Smith Associates
Since Grimley Smith Associates inception in 1992, GSA began with two chemical engineers, Andrew Grimley and Mike Smith. From those humble beginnings, GSA has now grown into an organisation of 70 plus engineers across a range of disciplines, with its own purposed built Headquarters in Brigg. Brigg is located near to the process industry along the Humber Bank, with accessible transport links to the rest of the UK.
GSA House is based in the centre of Brigg. The building, originally a car showroom, took major renovations to bring the building back into working use. Renovations on the building took by GSA, just over a year, resulting in a grand opening on the 11th July 2008. Member of Parliament Ian Cawsey officially opened the building. He also issued GSA a Civic Award from Brigg Town Council, for the work completed on the building and the positive impact it has had on the centre of Brigg.

A brief history of Brigg
Sometimes called Glanford Brigg, the earliest references to Brigg date back from the 12th century. The name Glanford is probably derived from the Old English "gleam" meaning revelry or merriment and "ford" meaning the ford in a river. Together the two could be "the ford where sports are held". Brigg comes from the Old Norse "bryggja" meaning a jetty and was added to the name later referring to the bridge over the river Ancholme.
Brigg is also famous for the song Brigg Fair, which is known around the world.
